ABOUT ME

A PASSION FOR THE WORLD AROUND ME

Hello!! My name is Taylor, and I am an activist, academic, and writer.

The one thing that I ask nearly every person I meet is: “Are you living a life beyond your imagination?”  I sure am!

My journey started in a place that is often forgotten in the Appalachia mountains, in a small town where poverty was more of a badge of honor than a disadvantage. With my dreams and  $75 in my pocket, I left home in a car made before I was born. Since this first scary journey and all the youthful mistakes that came with it, I have created a life beyond my imagination.

This journey has taken me to where I am today. It has provided me with years of experience developing creative and strategic solutions in several sectors including NGOs, public health, project development, advocacy, education, and journalism. I have worked worldwide with various populations and governments in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Lebanon, Jordan, Afghanistan, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Spain, The Netherlands, and the United States.

I have been published and am a regular contributor in Out Magazine and The Advocate. I also have been published in the Washington Post, Washington Blade, Denver Post, Eater, and the St. Louis Times. I am also writing a book that focuses on the stories of displaced LGBTQIA+ persons worldwide

Currently, you will find me at Columbia University at the Mailman School of Public Health.
